Some say punk is dead, but given the subculture’s enduring contributions to high fashion, we’d have to argue otherwise. The anti-establishment/DIY attitude that was once spearheaded by the Sex Pistols and Vivienne Westwood can still be seen on the runways today, and as the subject of this year’s Costume Institute exhibition--Chaos to Couture--at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 9th, the influence of punk has never been more prevalent. Kenzo x Vans Collaboration

Contrary to popular belief, a leopard can change his spots--or at least make them brighter, as evidenced by Kenzo’s fourth and latest shoe collaboration with Vans. The collection is made up of six classic styles punched up with an oversized animal print, called the Clouded Leopard, which Creative Directors Humberto Leon and Carol Lim also used in Kenzo’s S/S 13 collection. The design duo’s supercharged pattern--in electric colors like ochre, orange, blue, and green--was inspired by their travels to the jungles in Thailand, and gives Vans’ street sneakers a modern and fashion-forward twist. Only 3 Items From The Kate Young x Target Collection Are Sold Out–Bad Sign? I’ve been lusting after the Kate Young for Target collection ever since the lookbook hit last month. Well, the collection finally arrived yesterday and it has me wishing I could go to prom all over again (something I thought I’d never say). The celebrity stylist’s collection features formal dresses and separates that look expensive, but won’t break your budget. The apparel ranges in price from $29.99 to $89.99, and jewelry, handbags and shoes from $14.99 to $49.99.
