The world we live in today can be very hectic at times. People are so busy with work, school, and other daily activities; you may wonder where has the time gone? Of course people have to work in order to pay bills and survive but work should not consume you. The same thing applies to those of us who are in college and find the work pilling up this last month of the semester. In order for me not to loose my sanity, I often take short breaks throughout the day or of course have a “me” day!  The one thing that really keeps me focused is relying on God. Praying to God or simply talking to him can help alleviate stress that accumulates over time. We all are familiar with the saying “God will not put more on us than we can handle” right? I believe this is true but I do not believe he means for us to experience things without his help. Having peace in my life is important to me and should be for you too!
“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turns his face towards you and give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26 NIV
Here we see that the Lord is giving peace to us…we do not have to search for it we only need to ask and it will be given. I know there are times when you may be at work and have to deal with an irate customer or co-worker. These are the times when you pray for peace. Take a step back from everything and just breathe in and out. It may sound like a cliché, but breathing techniques really do work. Many times I find myself stepping away from a situation and taking a few deep breaths, and then I can handle the situation in a calm manner. If you find that you need to say a quick prayer then by all means do so. It does not mean that you are angry but you just want to calm yourself before you step out of character.
“May those who love you be secure. May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels.” For the sake of my brothers and friends, I will say, “Peace be within you.” For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek your prosperity.” Psalms 122:6-9 NIV
My challenge to those reading is to find peace in your life. Do not let outside forces stray you from the path that God himself has revealed to you. Do not let other people anger you or provoke you to step out of character. The world has enough problems and we experience them far too much. You must hold on to things that other people have no control over. No one should stop you from finding peace and holding on to it!
Here are a few suggestions that I have for you guys:
·         Surround yourself with positive people and positive energy.
·         Do not forget about breathing exercises, they can help calm your nerves.
·         Say a prayer or have someone who is secure in the word pray over you.
·         Enjoy times with friends and family. Become active in exercising or things that you enjoy doing!
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

  • Kim! You hit it right on point. Just to add a little more to your blog…

First ppl. need to get saved in order to have peace and a relationship with Jesus Christ! The word of God says that hears the prayers of the righteous and he doesn't her the prayers of the evil and that you must be born again in order to come to him.

On regular bases, you often don’t run into ppl. our age who are truly saved and sold out for Jesus Christ?

So many ppl. are searching for purpose and meaning in life..especially young ppl.

So many ppl. call themselves Christians? But, really… are you truly living for God? Are you representing the kingdom? Will God approval of your actions, thoughts, etc.?

In order for us to find peace, we have to find peace through him..not through man, family, friends, entertainment, etc. Don't get me wrong Jesus doesn't want us to be alone, but we can’t depend on man.

Ppl. check your salvation..then you’ll find
    peace through JESUS!
