It’sthat time of year again!! September marks the 1 year anniversary for Blondie’s Lipstick and we’re excited more than ever!As a staff writer I would like to say that I appreciate all of our supportersand readers. Those of you who subscribe to the magazine and take the time toread our articles: THANK YOU! ♥
Ilook at this as a time of celebration for the magazine and also for myself. Ibegan to think about all the things in my life that cause me to celebrate. Igained a closer relationship with God this year; I have a job, wonderful familyand friends, and discovered my calling in life. You may have similar thingsthat cause you to also celebrate and I have many other reasons as well.
“Encourage each other andbuild each other up, just as you are already doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11 NLT
SometimesI feel like we get caught up in our many holidays throughout the year. We go crazy for the New Year, Easter, Fourthof July, Christmas, and of course our Birthdays! J. Does it really take a holiday just for us tohave a reason to celebrate? Let’s take a step back to celebrate things that wedefinitely should not take for granted. For example, the mere fact that we arealive and well! God wakes us up and blesses us with another day of life! Godcontinues to give us another chance to move forward on our journey, wherever itmay take us. That’s reason enough for meto celebrate everyday!
“The Lord your God in yourmidst, The Mighty One, will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness, hewill quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah3:17 NKJV
Ifeel that our generation has lost sight of what’s really important. Everydaypeople celebrate their favorite rappers, comedians, or actor. We all are guiltyof rushing out to buy or download the latest CD or even pressing the followbutton on twitter; so that we can know what celebrities are doing all the time.
Iwonder if God had a twitter would he have as many followers…would people RT{retweet} him spreading his word around the world or subscribe to histweets. I only pray his account would bepublic because if not, would he accept our follow request?
Iask these questions not to be funny but to show how we glorify so many thingsin life without even noticing. I’vementioned before in a previous article about how easy it is to get lost in ouradvanced world today. What you have todo is try to find that connection with God that allows you to celebrate him ineverything you do. Once you tap into that hold on to it and never let that go.
“One generation will commend your worksto another; they will tell of your mighty acts. They will speak of the glorioussplendor of your majesty, and I will meditate on your wonderful works. They will tell of the power of your awesomeworks, and I will proclaim your great deeds. They will celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of yourrighteousness.” Psalm 145 4-7 NIV
