Life is going pretty good and you feel like you’re on top of your game…out of nowhere everything around you starts to fall apart. I know most people can agree that sometimes it seems as if everything is going wrong in life. A hectic work environment, relationship issues, car trouble, monthly bills….all of this can become a bit overwhelming. Sometimes you may feel like just laying in bed for the day, no twitter, no facebook, no calls or text messages. Other times you may feel like venting to a trusted friend. Life gets hard, especially when we try to handle everything on our own. We forget that God is on our side and that he is willing to help.
It’s important to realize that hard times come and go. We’ve all heard the saying that God will not put more on us than we can bear, and this is certainly true. God is aware of the strength that each and every one of us posses. He has carefully planned every aspect of life out so that we will be the person he wants us to be. God is never standing in the way; instead he is trying to guide us down the right path.
“We can rejoice…when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they are good for us, they help us learn to endure.” Romans 5:3 NLT
When I feel like everything around me is closing in and I have nowhere to go…I turn to God.
When I feel like I just want to cry because I don’t know what I should do next….I turn to God.
“I tell you the truth; you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn into joy” John 16:20 NIV
Each time I call on God he answers me. Maybe not right away and in a hurry [which is what most people want], but always on time. I trust in God to deliver me from hard times and pray for his continued guidance.
Like most people, I figure everything in life happens for a reason. When things do not go as we plan in life, we must continue ahead because change will come. Sitting around and feeling down will get you nowhere. Instead, take time to see why things happened the way they did and try again.
“Be truly glad! There is wonderful joy ahead, even though it is necessary for you to endure many trials for a while. These trials are only to test your faith, to show that it is strong and pure. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold…so if your faith remains strong after being tried by fiery trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.” 1 Peter 1:6-7 NLT

I truly believe that hard times don't last forever. At times it may feel that way but be assured that God will be with us every step of the way.
